The U.S. Green Buildings Council works in conjunction with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to educate citizens about the importance of environmentally friendly home construction. More builders are building green homes than ever, as most of the components of a house can be made more environmentally friendly than traditional components.

Green Home Construction

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, buildings, including homes, businesses and other structures, are responsible for 38 percent of all carbon dioxide emissions and 68 percent of all electricity consumption in the United States. Additionally, the EPA suggests that building a green home will produce environmental, economic and social benefits.
